Refund Policy

Information about refunds for cancelled bus ticket bookings.

1. General

Highway Tours ("we", "our") processes refunds for bus ticket bookings in accordance with the cancellation and refund rules of the respective bus operators and the fare type you selected at the time of booking.

2. When Refunds Apply

Refunds may be available when:

  • You cancel your booking within the permitted cancellation window
  • The bus operator cancels the service
  • We are unable to confirm your booking and no alternative is provided
  • Duplicate or erroneous charges are verified by us

3. Cancellation Charges

Cancellation charges depend on:

  • Time left before departure (e.g., 24 hours, 12 hours, 4 hours)
  • Fare type (e.g., non-refundable, partially refundable)
  • Bus operator's specific policy

These terms are displayed at the time of booking. Cancellation charges are deducted from the amount paid before processing the refund.

4. Refund Method and Timeline

Refunds are credited to the original payment method used for the booking:

  • Cards / UPI / Net Banking: Typically 7–10 business days after approval
  • Wallet: As per wallet provider policy, usually within a few days

Once we process the refund, the timing of the credit depends on your bank or payment provider.

5. Non-Refundable Scenarios

No refund is provided when:

  • You do not show up for the journey (no-show)
  • The fare type explicitly states "non-refundable" and you cancel
  • Cancellation is requested after the operator's cutoff time
  • Booking was made under a promotional offer that excludes refunds (as stated in the offer)

6. Partial Trip / Operator Cancellation

If the bus operator cancels the trip or truncates the route, we will work with the operator to arrange a full or partial refund or alternate travel, as per their policy. You may contact our support for assistance.

7. How to Request a Refund

Cancel your booking through "My Trips" on our website or contact our customer support with your booking ID. Refund eligibility and amount will be calculated as per the applicable cancellation rules.
